James C. White, CPL, President of Whiterock Resources, LLC, has been in the Oil and Gas Industry for over 34 years. James attended Kilgore College and Stephen F. Austin University where he studied Oil and Gas Technology and Geology. James began his career in Northwest Louisiana in Caddo and Red River Parishes in 1984 as an independent landman for W.K. Walker and Associates. During his time there, he was a contract landman for several large and small independent oil companies, including Amerada-Hess Corporation, Santa Fe Minerals, and Reynolds Drilling Company. This work allowed James to develop his skills in several counties across Northeast Texas and Northwest Louisiana. After his stay with W.K. Walker and Associates, he started his independent work with Marshall Exploration, which involved several projects across Northeast Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. James’ work with Marshall Exploration led to him becoming a contract landman for Sonat Exploration where he remained from 1989 until 1995.

After his time in the field, James moved his skills in-house becoming Land Manager for Howell Oil & Gas, a small independent oil & gas company. As Land Manager, his primary duties included title examination, negotiating oil and gas leases due diligence in property acquisitions, damage settlements, acquisition of easement and right of ways, Railroad Commission filings, preparation of JOA’s, farm outs, and contact with other oil and gas producers, mineral owners and property owners.
